bridge abridged
This [as yet unnamed?] pedestrian bridge connects the University of Rochester River Campus with the a project 20 years in the making, Brooks Landing. The area near Brooks Ave, Genesee St, and South Plymouth Ave has been blighted for maybe 40 years. When the bridge opened (about 1990), crime on campus jumped, as naysayers had cautioned. University Security even posted officers within line of sight on their site of the bridge, to track the comings and goings of usual suspects and maybe even profile them.
